This is me and Sister Anderson.
Sister Anderson has been here for almost two weeks. She is our new mission president's wife. We were with them today in one of the areas we cover. We stopped in Taal and took a look at the gowns. She has thirty grandchildren and a lot of them are girls. The church in the far distance is four hundred years old. I always squint when I am outside, because it is so bright. No, I am not taller than Sister Anderson. I was just standing on a step.

This is called Jack fruit.
Dad (Elder Ganir) use to eat this when he was a little boy living in Hawaii. He loved it. He says that his mom use to boil the big seed. The problem is, that the fruit is so big, and I don't know how to prepare it, so we haven't tried it yet.

Some cute flowers!
We have been looking for an apartment in the town of Ibaan. We are opening another area to missionaries and so we were asked to find an apartment. We stopped to ask someone if they new of any apartments for rent and I saw these flowers. Sometimes I think everyone who reads our blog, wonders what we are doing taking pictures of flowers, etc. All our pictures are on the way to a meeting or assignment. If we see something that we like or we think would be interesting to others, we take a quick picture. This will help us remember and our family and friends know what it is like here in the Philippines as we serve on this wonderful mission.

This is another picture of what we had to try to navigate around.
The road goes straight thru where the truck is sitting. The whole highway was taken up by the people trying to move the soda bottles from the crashed or broken truck onto the empty truck in the middle of the road. We took this picture from our car's front window. This was in the city of Cabuyao.

Overload of the day picture.
This truck with the yellow crates is full of bottled soda pop. Some how it crashed off the side of the road. It is now being unloaded. The traffic on this very busy city street must navigate around the accident.

We were literally stuck for twenty or more minutes.
We were returning home one afternoon after a long day of work. We found ourselves literally stuck in the middle of a traffic grid lock. The only thing moving were the children who had just gotten out of school for the day. We took these pictures from all angles from inside our car. We were stuck for about twenty minutes or longer. Not even the sneaky motorcycles could move. We were so glad to have air con in our car.
